One More Look...

The boys and I stopped to take one last look at the Como Town billboards this morning. They are likely coming down soon. I had no idea billboards changed out that quickly!

Boys checking out Carter's Star Wars lego guy:

15 minutes of fame! :)
I received an email today - we will receive another desk-size billboard (we received one last week) and 2 full size billboards for the boys when they take them down. What a great memory for them! :)

Fishing

Evan wanted to take the fishing boat out on Lake 11. I went along for the ride. I am pretty sure he remembers now why he never takes me fishing. It was beautiful and relaxing magazine-reading weather until about an hour into it when this crazy storm cloud came in out of nowhere and dumped rain on us. Being the ever-prepared husband and fisherman he is, he promptly handed me his rain gear. I was shivering in the rain gear and I was reminded of why I DON'T FISH!

Evan's big catch!

And that was about the biggest catch of the day, too!

My handsome fisherman - I'm pretty sure he would rather fish alone than bring me along in the future! :)

Ride

Grandpa gives Ryan rides in Evan's trailer, made comfortable with a carpet sample on the floor. Ryan shouts orders at Grandpa: "through the ditch!", "faster!" and Grandpa complies. I joined Ryan for a ride and as we were whipping through the ditch, I kept thinking this was much more suited for a 5 year old!!!!

I'm outta here, Mom!

Look at those eyes - I wish Grandpa's knee wasn't in the way so we could see his face!

Barber Beware!

Ryan starting cutting my Dad's hair last time he was up north. He is thoroughly into it for roughly 5 minutes, and then calls it quits, regardless of the result. He works cheap (for free, actually), but I'd be careful about hiring, Ryan, though, after looking at the end result!

Stamped Jewelry

This weekend I had 5 pieces to work on:

Bracelet going to Canada:

For the same family, little different stones:

And one more piece for my friend in Canada:

For my great-niece to be, due in August, Adria:

Another gift for a child, ordered on FB:
I want to thank everyone that has placed orders from me in the past and for the great referrals. I am going to be taking some time off to spend with my family for the rest of the summer. I'll be back in the fall! Thanks again!!!!

Como Town

The boys and I hit Como Town again today. PERFECT day for it - it was overcast (forecast called for all day rain but there was none) and we literally had the park to ourselves. Loved it!

Ryan on the Tilt-a-Whirl - notice the 'thumbs-up'!

Ryan on the swings:

Bye!

Ryan on the dragon roller coaster:

Carter driving 4 wheeler:

We took a break from the amusement park and headed over to the Sparky show:

And even saw a few animals:

Back to the park...Fireman Ryan:

Not to be left out, Fireman Carter:

Frog Hopper:

Always induces the giggles:

Driving the old cars:
Awesome day - I hope the boys enjoy it as much as I do! :)

Checking it out

The boys and I headed out to Como Town this morning, but first stopped to check out their new billboards. They thought they were pretty cool and I teared up the first time I saw it. Just so very awesome to see your kids up on a billboard! There are 3 fairly close to our house - hopefully the family and friends that want to see them will be able to! :)

Como Town asked for a photo of them near the billboard:

Close up of the billboard - I've put in a request to get 2 when they take them down, I thought it would make a cool keepsake for the kids!

This one is on 35W, just south of Highway 10, heading south:

Billboard

It began with this visit to Como Zoo last year. I submitted the boys photo to appear on Como Town's website in the scrapbook section. I received an email last week asking permission to use my photo for billboard advertising. Today I received the layout and confirmation that 40 billboards are being posted in the metro. How exciting for my boys! Proud Mom moment - how very cool and what a special memory for the boys!!!!! :)

Twins Game

We took Ryan and Carter to the Twins game today. It was a great day for a Twins game. A little warm (where is the metrodome air conditioning?) but at least we were in the shade most of the game. The boys were so warm, we let them take their shirts off to cool off. The Twins pulled out a great victory - what a game!!!!

We had a little bit of a walk from the car to the stadium, so we decided to try a bicycle taxi:

Carter wasn't so sure at first, but we did really enjoy it:
