Instagram

I don't have as many photos to share this time.  Our house has been hit by a bad flu bug and we are resting and recovering from that.  I haven't ever felt as thankful for a comfy bed, good TV, and my magazine stockpile as I have this weekend!

The boys' 100th day of school:

Carter is learning about the planets at school:

Heart shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Valentine's morning:

Love note project is complete! :)

I volunteered in Ryan's class for his Valentine's Party.  He was making a bagel with peanut butter and bird seed birdfeeder here:

Warm peanut butter cookies with heart shaped Dove chocolates on top made a fun after-school snack:

I took the boys roller skating last Friday night after school.  They had a blast.  This was a touching moment with Ryan patiently helping Carter learn to skate.  Too bad the lights were off and it was SO dark!  Just a little proof that they can get along! :)

Valentine's Day

We had a fun-filled Valentine's Day at our house.  I have more pics from Instagram to share with you.  We started out the day by filling in the last spot on our Valentine's love notes on each of the bedroom doors. The project was a hit and the boys loved it.  Then we had heart-shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast, peanut butter cookies with heart-shaped chocolates for an after-school snack, and heart-shaped pizzas and pink sherbet floats for dinner.  Good thing I had worked out (twice thanks to Mother Nature) because I consumed a whole lot of calories yesterday!

I was able to volunteer at Ryan's Valentine's party at school as well.  The kids had so much fun.  I had forgotten just how much fun the holidays are for the kids.  I was reminded over and over again yesterday! :)

As a gift, the boys received new Skylanders for their collection - they were a huge hit!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Mackeys!!!

Jewelry

Here are a few pieces that I made today:

Instagram

Time for another Instagram dump.  How is it possible it's been nearly a month since my last?

-11 air temp, -30 wind chill - BRRRRR!

Ryan had an ENT appointment, everyone had to wear face masks to prevent the spread of flu:

Wacky day in Ryan's classroom:

I was spring cleaning in my kitchen and dropped a burning jar candle, which splattered all over my sink, countertop, flower arrangement, picture frames, and blinds. What a MESS to clean up!

In the Delta Sky Club, awaiting our flight to Florida with Charles:

Sunset cruise in Estero Bay (Bonita Springs):

Beth and I ran every morning, this was our view on our runs.  Simply gorgeous.

Dinner at Backwater Jack's.  Watching the sun set behind the trees:

Poolside at Tavira - it felt just like we were at a resort:

Evan and I out for a walk on our last morning in Florida:

Carter had a lollipop as big as him!

My love note project.  Every day February 1-14 I put a heart on the boy's bedroom doors, telling them something I love about them.  I'm even doing it for Evan.  The boys have loved it so far.  I asked Evan if he liked his hearts on our bedroom door, and he said "oh, those are mine?"  Apparently it wasn't as big of a hit for him!  ;)

New ping pong table in the basement:

World's happiest kids at world's toughest rodeo:

Very emotional tribute to the troops at the rodeo:

Thumbprint hearts for the boys' Valentine's:

Carter and Ryan watching Skylanders videos on YouTube.  This is how I find them most mornings:

Carter's last swimming session, Middle Fours at Foss Swim School.  I can't believe all of my kids are done with swimming lessons!!!  What will I do with the extra time and money??

Ryan's Reading Nook

Ryan's second grade class was given the assignment of finding a creative reading nook and taking a picture of the student reading there.  This is where Ryan chose his (on top of our foyer closet)!

Jewelry

I made the boys' teachers each a necklace for Valentine's Day.  It has a red heart and their kids' initials on them. Hopefully they will like them! :)

Ping Pong

Evan and the boys bought a table tennis (ping pong) table last weekend.  It sits on top of our pool table in the basement.  They have already spent countless hours playing ping pong.  I haven't played ping pong since I was a kid.  I've found myself down there several times now playing with the kids (and their friends).  Evan had a ping pong table growing up and it held great memories for him.  I hope the boys will find the same with this one!
