More Soccer

Kyle had two more games again today.  The weather wasn't quite so brutally cold - win for all of us! :)  Kyle's team won their first game and lost their second.  All in all, they played very well at this tournament.

Kyle's fans:

Dual climate control.  After a cold game, mine is on 84*, Evan's on 68*.  Gotta love the fact that we can each adjust our own! :)

Edited to add photos from after the championship game:

Jewelry

I finished my Mother's Day orders this weekend.  Such a great feeling!  Hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I enjoy getting new jewelry! :)

Northern Lights

We watched Kyle's soccer games in the freezing cold today.  It was in the 40s, but high winds and rain throughout in the day made for very damp, cold players and spectators!  Kyle's team lost this morning's game, but came out on top in this afternoon's game.  They also play tomorrow morning and if they win, tomorrow afternoon.  He has really come a long way since he joined soccer last year - he enjoys it and it shows!

Hard fall - OUCH!

Homework

We have been working with Carter on his writing the past several months.  He is getting better at his grip, but it has taken a lot of practice.  Today he wrote his name 10 times and all of his numbers 10 times.  Tomorrow we're working on the alphabet.  If we keep this up, he'll be ready for kindergarten in no time! :)

His new favorite pastime, putting post-its on the doors with writing on them!

Monster Trucks

Carter and I went to Target last weekend with his gift cards from his birthday.  He came home with an Angry Birds game, Thor hammer, Real Steel set, and 5 monster trucks.  He has been playing with them constantly.  His favorite thing to do is stack the monster trucks up in a pile.  The monster trucks hold special meaning to him because we have gone to the last two Monster Jams at the Metrodome - the boys just love it!

Kyle's Gun

Kyle was lucky enough to bring home a .22 with scope from last night's MDHA Banquet in Hinckley.  He has gone with Evan and my Dad for several years now and this is the second gun he has brought home.  He also won a hard case for it - he was so excited!

Flowers

I received flowers at work on Wednesday from my boss, or rather, my boss's wife was the one who delivered them.  I happen to work for a great guy whose wife also works at Target.  I worked with her before I even knew him, and that was almost 10 years ago now.  What a great family!  I have so much support in my current role and I feel so blessed!

Cozumel

Evan and I spent a blissful week of rest and relaxation to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in Cozumel, Mexico at the Aura Grand Resort.  It was amazing and just what we needed.  I read 2 magazines and 5 books, had 2 couples massages on the beach, went snorkeling, parasailing, and caught up on sleep.  I couldn't have asked for a better time!

They have 87 rooms at the Aura and they are 753 square feet each.  They are huge!

There is a lazy river running through the resort:

We could see the ocean from our room:

Watching TV before dinner:

The lobby is open air - no walls on either end.  Beautiful!

Our first night here, the most beautiful sunset all week!

Gorgeous!

10th Anniversary Vacation!

The BEST chocolate cake EVER!  I had it almost every night after dinner! :)

Our daily lunch guest:

Unwanted dinner guests:

Another unwanted guest - the crabs were crawling all over in the sand next to our table at dinner.  Only downside to eating in an open restaurant.   One even bit Evan in the heel while we were eating - I kept my feet up on my chair - I wasn't taking any chances!

Walking on the beach:

Pool early in the morning:

The water ran right over the edge of the pool - it was beautiful!

We had two couples massages on the beach.  We liked the first one so much, we booked another! :)

Our breakfast location every morning.  Completely peaceful, relaxing, and unlike anything I've ever experienced!

I went for a walk down the beach on a cloudy day...

This bird posed for me, over and over again.  He was not phased at all by me standing so close to him!

Evan got up early every morning and went for a swim in the ocean.  He said the only time I'll see the sunrise is through the photos.  And he was right - I slept in every single day!!!

It was an unusually rainy week there.  It rained every day after the day we arrived.  Thankfully not all day!

We met a couple from Michigan, Joe and Karen, and played Pass the Pigs in the bar with them while it was raining.  I am officially addicted - I love that game! :)

The rain gave way to a beautiful sunset:

I talked my new friend, Karen, into going parasailing with me.  We were signing our waiver:

We had to pick up one other couple to parasail:

Harnessing up:

And we're off!

I have always wanted to parasail!  I am so glad I got to finally do it! :)

We had a couple of large bumps that jerked us.  It was the only time I felt a little nervous up there!

Just to give you an idea of how high we were - we were up 200'!

We could see forever.  It was beautiful!

Thumbs up!

The captain asked us if we wanted to be dunked.  We declined but the two behind us agreed to it!!!

Ha ha!

Our last night in Cozumel.  What an amazing vacation!!!

Joe and Karen:

It was an amazing week of rest and relaxation.  A huge thank you to my Mom for taking care of my boys so we could go.  We could never do it without her!  Love you, Mom!!!!!  XOXO
