Carter - 2 Years

Is it really possible that my 'baby' will be turning 2 shortly? Crazy! Look how he's grown!

Shades

I bought the boys new sunglasses - somehow they only make it one season (if that) and then they are all scratched up. Carter wouldn't take his new Batman shades off - he is still wearing them in the house!

Day Job

I've never really mentioned my day job on here, have I? I am an Executive Assistant at Target. I work part-time in a job share. I love the flexibility it provides me and I am one of those people that just really likes what I do. Here are a few pictures of my "life" 8-4:30 on Mondays through Wednesdays:

Projects

This was a project weekend at our house. We had a list of things we wanted to accomplish before we left on vacation this week. I finished the spring cleaning on Friday night - I've been working on it f.o.r.e.v.e.r. That is a huge project for me, one I dread starting, but am glad to have it done! On Saturday, we went to Rochester for my cousin's son's birthday party. While we were at the party, we decided to make a trip to Hobby Lobby - what a fun place to shop! I found a vase and stems to replace the overgrown peace lily on my kitchen counter. Love the space I freed up with a smaller piece there. After church today, I replaced our worn flag and flag pole outside - the boys played while I worked on getting the new one in place. Looks much better! Another Hobby Lobby purchase - a letter M to grace our entry way. The boys helped Evan hang it after their naps this afternoon. Evan also put dimmer switches on several of our lights in the house. I originally bought them for the boys' rooms, but found out we cannot use them in there because they have a ceiling fan on a single wiring system. We did find several other uses for them...they are much sleeker than the old knob style dimmers in the 70s - you never even see the dimmer switch unless you look carefully. Finally, Evan caulked the bathroom tile in the boys' bathroom. Voila - projects complete - I think we are officially ready to head out of town! Well, a little packing to do, but glad to have the projects behind us! :)

Mini Me

Ryan's school project this week was to design a "Mini Me" for his spring program in April. Ryan isn't one that likes to sit and draw or color, so I knew this would be a tough project to get him interested in. I thought of the Bendaroos we have and knew he would enjoy working with those. Sure enough, I got him going on it, and the ideas started flowing. Ryan loves baseball, hence the bat and ball, and Super Ryan shirt! :)

Tornado

Ryan had his last Tornado Class at Perpetual Motion Gymnastics for the winter session today. He has made huge progress since his first class last fall. Gymnastics is right up his alley with his energy level. I had no idea what to expect when I signed him up for the class, and it has far exceeded my expectations. They have great instructors who work with the kids so well. I bet it won't be long and Carter will want to be out there joining him - especially in the foam block "pit" they love so much!

Drinking Fountain

To an adult, a drinking fountain is a piece of cake to operate. To a toddler, it is tough to get the timing down. Carter is obsessed with drinking fountains and always ends up with more on his face and clothes than in his mouth! I really don't think he minds, though!
