Tractor Convoy

Grandpa, Kyle, and Ryan joined the 4 hour tractor convoy to take Grandpa's Oliver to the Logging and Threshing Show for next weekend. The boys were so excited. Kyle helped drive Grandpa's tractor and Ryan rode in the kids' wagon - closely watched by the best babysitter, Katelyn France!

Fly Like an Eagle

I saw this eagle circling up above and couldn't help but think of the Steve Miller Band!

Woe is me!

It's exhausting being one on the farm!!!!

Sunset

I was returning from a run at my parents' and this is the sunset I ran into - isn't it gorgeous? Perfect end to the day!

Leaving Their Mark

I found the boys' names and Ryan's handprint on my parents' new cement slab outside their shed - I didn't know they had done that. Funny story along with it - Ryan was at my parents' house when the cement was being poured - he ended up running directly through the wet cement - thankfully it (and he!) were easily cleaned up! Leave it to Ryan!!! :)

Basketball Game

Evan and Kyle had a game of PIG going (I am still not sure who won - ask either and get 2 different answers!) when Carter jumped in to show off his dunking skills!

Look at me!

I was taking pictures of the boys playing basketball when I heard "Mom, look at me!" and this is what I turned to see...

Grandpa's Little Shadow

Grandpa doesn't get far without his little shadow. Carter is on Grandpa's heels all the time! They are the best of buds!

Kindergarten Screening

Ryan had his kindergarten screening this morning. He did a great job - I was very impressed with the screening staff - they do so well with the kids. Ryan passed the screening with no problem! He did get a little bored during the vision test, so we had to re-do that before we left, but he ended up passing. A one-hour screen gets long when you are 3 and want to play - the Spiderman stickers at the end made it all worthwhile for him!!!! :)

Buds

Ryan is not typically a cuddly kid, but he loves to snuggle with his brother in the morning when he wakes up. We have a morning routine of Carter crawling up in his bed and waking Ryan. I have to get the video camera in there one of these days!

Winter pajamas in August?

Can you believe Carter is in winter pjs already in August? It was nearly 90 out today. We keep our house relatively warm at night, too, and yet, he is always cold when he sleeps. We have found that if we keep him dressed warmer, he sleeps much better. He doesn't keep a blanket on, so we have resorted to winter pjs in August - go figure! Makes me warm just looking at him!!!!! I guess you do what it takes to sleep! :)

Busy Saturday!

Okay, I might be a bit obsessed with my camera. I had a moment of panic last weekend when I realized on the way up north that I had forgotten it at home. Evan's camera worked in a pinch... The boys went fishing on Lake 11 in the morning, then joined us on Grindstone to swim at Sondra's cabin. After lunch we visited Grandma Rabe and in the evening, it was 4 wheeler and tractor fun - what a busy day up north! The pictures are the fishing trip (remember I mentioned Evan was dying to get his boat on the water? He did it!), feeding fish frozen peas on Sondra's dock, megastation fun, a paddleboat ride, and Ryan swimming in his birthday suit. That's still legal when you are 3 - apparently a different story for us!!!!

Cheaters

Evan finally had to admit he needed reading glasses - his arms were no longer long enough to hold the paper any more... :) Kyle and I tease him placing them down his nose...

Yum...cupcakes!

Is there anything better than frosted cupcakes with sprinkles on top? My kids don't seem to think so! Carter enjoying his tonight...

Pump It Up

We went to Pump It Up to play this morning. Thankfully we have one in our neighborhood for rainy days like today... the kids love it!

Crooker's Lake Place

After our visit with Elsye, we headed to Little Wolf Lake to visit with Evan's Aunt and Uncle, Mollie and Terry. The boys loved their time in the water! The afternoon went much too quickly - they could have stayed all day!!!
