Jewelry

Another busy day for the jewelry business.  Suffering from seasonal allergies, I was thankfully able to find relief with two Advil before starting my jewelry orders.  Pounding jewelry with a pounding headache is not fun, I'm just sayin'...

I made this necklace a long time ago for the boys' hairstylist, Fay.  She just had another baby and gave this one to me at our appointment this week to update with her new baby's name.  She was embarrassed at the condition of the necklace.  I took it as a compliment.  She wore it every single day.  What greater compliment to my work is there?

I took the above and made this...

and this...maybe Danny can use it for his backpack or something!?

This is for one of Ryan's classmates, a first communiongift from her Grandpa:

I made this one but after I took a look at it, the pearl was too overpowering...

so I switched it to this one.  Much bettter!

Sleepy

Carter and I had a full day of running errands and he skipped his afternoon nap.  He very rarely skips a nap, and he still needs one.  Case in point, this is what happens when he is watching a late afternoon movie:

He started to get up, and was too tired to make it...now that is tired!  ;)

Sneaky

One morning this week, I heard both of the boys up to use the bathorom before I went in to wake them.  We have a rule in our house that they can't get up before their clock turns green (their clocks illuminate green at 7:00 a.m., purchased when Ryan started to think 4:45 a.m. was an acceptable waking time...) unless they need to use the bathroom or something is wrong.  I went into Carter's room to wake him, and his bed was empty.  I went into Ryan's room, and this is what I found:

Baseball

Ryan's first baseball game was last night.  He is on the Bullfrogs.  Very cute, something of a comedy of errors.  I should bring my video camera to the next game!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all Moms - I hope your day was extra special today.  I had a great weekend.  It was a weekend with no set agenda - our first one in a very long time and it was GREAT!  I was able to spend part of it with my Mom (and Dad) and the rest of it with my family.  We did some yardwork, played outside, had a bonfire, went on a bike ride to the park, played endless games of baseball, and watched movies, read books, and played inside as well.  I haven't had such a great, non-scheduled weekend in a long time!!!!

Jewelry

This was a busy weekend for jewelry.  I thought I was so prepared for the Mother's Day rush, but was caught off guard by the other orders, not specifically for Mother's Day.  Lots of pounding going on in the Mackey house this weekend! :)

Ryan is in run club at school now.  They get a 'foot' if they are doing a good job.  I made a keyring for his backpack to keep his 'feet' on!

For a fellow Family of Christ / Johnsville Parent, a Triathlete:

Such a sad story behind this necklace.  This is for the family of a woman who died during childbirth and her infant daughter also died.  :(  My heart goes out to this family and I feel honored and humbled to be a small part of their healing process.

I tried something a little different by texturing the sides more heavily and a very light texture on the top, adding a brushed finish, I really liked the end result.  Hard to tell in the photo, but if you look hard enough you can see it!

This was a different style, with birthdates accompanying the names, adding birthstones as a final touch.  I love trying new things.  If you have a new idea for me to try, let me know!
