Backyard Fun

You couldn't have asked for a better night than tonight.  The weather was absolutely perfect for playing outside.  First we played in front and then headed to the backyard.  Football started off the night and races finished it.  This is what I love about summer - playing outside!!!!!

My littlest football player:
Kyle playing, stopping to check his phone and text his friend:
Carter's off:
Evan throwing to Kyle:
Maybe next time...
This time they connect...
Hogpile:
Enough football, time to race!  On your mark...get set...
Go!
Ryan wins!  (Check out Carter pouting in the background):
This race is all Carter's!
Look at that grin!  (At what age are you supposed to stop letting them win?)
Next up was me and Kyle...
Talking about letting him win...Ha!  Maybe I'm just slowing down in my old age?  Na, I prefer to think he is just terribly fast for 11!

Next up...Lukas joins the boys!  (Again, notice Carter's expression in the background):
That's enough to make me cry!
It really wasn't all bad...We did have a fun night! :)

Sunset Bay Resort and Mackey Family Get Together

We spent 3 days at Sunset Bay Resort on Baby Lake for a Mackey family get together.  Evan's sister, Margaret and her husband, Tony hosted all 37 of us for the weekend.  We had a great time and we were so glad to see that all of Evan's siblings and their families could make it!

Loaded up and ready to go (everything but the kitchen sink):
542 "Are we there yet?"(s) later, we arrived at Sunset Bay Resort:
Inside our very rustic cabin's living room:
Kitchen/dining room:
Bathroom:
Carter and his football that goes everywhere with him, including bed:
Waking up to a very foggy morning on Saturday (the fog burned off and turned into a perfect sunshiny day):
Carter chasing the ducks:
Ryan chasing the ducks:
I was going to delete this one, but it made me crack up (pulling up his shorts as he ran):
Evan and his boys on the dock:
View from the cabin:
Evan pitching to the little leaguers:
Carter batting - he looks so much older than 3, doesn't he?
He loved playing baseball with his cousins:
Seriously, you call that a pitch, Dad?
Hanging out on the raft:
Ryan overboard:
Swimming back to the dock:
Ryan jumping off the dock:
Ryan in the hot tub:
He was with all of the older cousins and their friends, he didn't wipe off his grin the entire time he was in there:
Look at the feast Margaret and Tony prepared:
Ryan cannonballing off the dock:
He doesn't know the meaning of the word fear:
I wish I had his energy!
Kyle on the hydro bike:
Carter taking it easy, letting Evan do all the work:
Ryan tries his hand at kayaking (there is nothing that he won't try):
He caught on quickly, there was no stopping him!
Carter jumping off the dock, into Evan's arms:
Evan and his boys swimming in Baby Lake:
Our "nanny" for the weekend (Grandma) and Ryan heading up for lunch:
Evan and Carter swimming:
By the Power of Grayskull (they are obsessed with He-Man right now and Evan did this about 100 times in a row!):
Every time brought the same grin and giggles:
Evan and Kyle on the paddle boat:
Carter eating lunch on the dock - this hit me as such a peaceful moment in time - he was so relaxed and enjoyed watching the boats and birds in the water:
Hey, I know those paddle boaters!
Kyle and Evan returning from their paddle boating:
Flower by the cabin:
Mushrooms we were studying on the hillside:
Ryan's turn on the hydro bike (he was too short to reach the pedals sitting on the seat, but that didn't stop him!):
Evan and Carter paddle boating:
View of the resort from the lake:
Duck that was sleeping by the dock (they were so tame):
Evan pulling Carter on the boogie board:
Ryan diving off the dock:
He is one brave kiddo:
Carter and Ryan feeding the ducks:
What a great weekend - wish we could have stayed an entire week!!!!!!  Looking forward to next year!
