We took a day trip on Saturday into Chicago. Pat and Gail lived there for 20 years and still continue to spend a lot of time there for their jobs. It's so much fun traveling with the locals that know all of the hot spots!
There were free concerts in the park in this theater every Wednesday and Saturday evenings:
View of the seating area - people strolled around when there wasn't a concert, but you'll see at the end of the post how full this area got during the concert:
Shot of the "bean" from afar - I wish we would have gotten a closer picture:
Evan took these of the cranes and construction site:
There were tour boats that ran every 45 minutes:
We walked over 6 miles on the streets of Chicago yesterday:
Our view from the 96th floor of the Hancock Building. It was subtle, but it was swaying on a very windy day. I felt seasick by the time we went back down. The elevator goes over 60 mph, so it didn't take long to get up or down!
Me with Pat and Gail:
Me and Evan:
Overlooking the restaurant/bar area. What a great view of the lake from those seats!
Evan and Pat walking:
Getting ready for the evening performance. See how much it fills up?
Mom and Dad kept the boys this weekend while we were gone. Carter rode through the Mora Parade with Grandpa on his John Deere Patio Tractor:
Ryan drove Gerald's tractor through the Parade:
What a fun weekend for all of us! Huge thanks to Pat and Gail for hosting and for my parents for watching our boys!!!
