Visit to Pat and Gail's

Evan and I headed to Mequon, WI this weekend to visit my previous boss, Pat, and his wife, Gail.  They just bought a beautiful new home there and it was our first time at their new place.  I wish I had taken more pictures of their home, because it was just gorgeous and had so much character.

We took a day trip on Saturday into Chicago.  Pat and Gail lived there for 20 years and still continue to spend a lot of time there for their jobs.  It's so much fun traveling with the locals that know all of the hot spots!

There were free concerts in the park in this theater every Wednesday and Saturday evenings:

View of the seating area - people strolled around when there wasn't a concert, but you'll see at the end of the post how full this area got during the concert:

Shot of the "bean" from afar - I wish we would have gotten a closer picture:

Evan took these of the cranes and construction site:

There were tour boats that ran every 45 minutes:

We walked over 6 miles on the streets of Chicago yesterday:

Our view from the 96th floor of the Hancock Building.  It was subtle, but it was swaying on a very windy day.  I felt seasick by the time we went back down.  The elevator goes over 60 mph, so it didn't take long to get up or down!

Me with Pat and Gail:

Overlooking the restaurant/bar area.  What a great view of the lake from those seats!

Getting ready for the evening performance.  See how much it fills up?

My sole shot of Pat and Gail's house, taken as we were driving out of the driveway:

Mom and Dad kept the boys this weekend while we were gone.  Carter rode through the Mora Parade with Grandpa on his John Deere Patio Tractor:

Ryan drove Gerald's tractor through the Parade:

What a fun weekend for all of us!  Huge thanks to Pat and Gail for hosting and for my parents for watching our boys!!!

Twins Game - Champions Club Style

We were fortunate enough to get Champions Club tickets for the Twins game this week.  We took the boys and they had so much fun.  It really was the perfect evening!

Evan and his boys:

Evan and I enjoying dinner in the restaurant before the game:

Enjoying the comfy seats:

Ryan had 3 hot dogs, 4 trays of nachos, pop, and more candy than I care to count! :)

Carter and Ryan found a cell phone laying on the floor of the Champion's Club.  They turned it in to security, and as a reward, they were both given MN Twins bags, Glen Perkins jerseys, and a Snoopy baseball player figurine.  They were so excited!!!

Rally caps on in the 9th:

Leaving the game and waiting for our car to show up (we had valet parking in the Champions Club):

We had the BEST time!!

Express

Carter had his last baseball game of the season for the Express tonight.  He improved so much this year and really put his heart and soul into baseball.  I am so proud of how much he accomplished this year!

Nice hit to the outfield:

Thumbs up for Mom (my camera was just a little slow):

Nice slide - he was safe!

Scooping up the ball to make a nice play as pitcher:

I love the look of concentration and determination he gets on his face:

Carter was so excited to have Evan has the third base coach tonight:

Proud to cross the plate and score a run!

End of the year talk from Coach Joe:
