Fun on the farm

Evan took the boys to Mom and Dad's this weekend while I worked down here.  They did a lot of hunting, four wheeling, wood cutting, archery, and playing outside.  Here's a snapshot of their weekend:

First time I stamped on the back of a necklace, (this was a gift order for someone celebrating their 10th year of sobriety):

My brand new design - 3 stacked washers.  This idea came to me out of the blue and I had to stop what I was doing to make it! :)

This wasn't something I made, but wanted to share.  I had my wedding ring rhodium finished to update the look (basically white gold was applied over the top of the yellow gold) and I also had my Grandma's wedding ring resized and polished.  They both look brand new!

One more to share - I ordered this spinner ring on etsy last week - it arrived yesterday and it fits me perfectly.  Love it! :)

This weekend was a super productive jewelry-making weekend, 12 orders in all...whew!

This was my first-ever dog tag, made into a keychain.  It was a tricky order, getting all 8 names on the keychain.  It is a Christmas gift.  This is the front:

Halloween Crafts

Well, we did it - and it was a success!  It is never as easy as it looks in the magazine (or in this case, on the blog), but we made 10 pumpkin jars.  The boys loved picking out and drawing the faces, Mom cut the faces out of construction paper, and I did the sticky job of mod-podging (is that a word?) the tissue paper and faces to the jars.  I was a sticky mess when it was done, but we were happy with the end result.

First grade - someone tell me that can't be true!!!!  What a cutie-patootie!  :)

Cub Scouts

Ryan joined Cub Scouts last month.  He is in Pack 412 at his elementary school.  His Den Leader is one of our neighbors, so it works out great to have the boys go to the meetings together.  Ryan loves it so far, and the messages they instill in the boys are awesome "respect for your parents", "helping others", "do your best", etc.  Carter's already counting down until he can join Scouts (next September).  Ryan's not too fired up about the uniform, and did not want me to put a picture of him in it 'on the web' as he calls it, but I had to share!

Halloween Decorations

The boys and I decorated for Halloween.  I think that is their favorite holiday to decorate for.  I could take it or leave it, but they are so excited, that I get into it as well. 

Putting up the window clings:

On our first ever shopping trip to a Goodwill, we came home with this enormous pumpkin for our front step.  It was against my better judgement, but Carter insisted "because it is just like Grandma's".

We had to replace our previous Halloween lights in our front window with a new spiderweb (measures 4').  It looks pretty cool at night.  If I ever learned how to shoot photos at night and have them turn out well, you could get the entire 'night' effect!
