Star of the Day

Ryan is the "Star of the Day" tomorrow in his preschool class. Each student gets their day to be star. You get to bring in 3 favorite things from home, place them in the Star Bag, and describe them to the class. The students take turns guessing what they are. Ryan's favorites that he selected tonight were his "pocket softy", Lightning McQueen car, and SpongeBob lego. He is so excited to be Star of the Day tomorrow...I wonder if he will sleep tonight? :)

Photo Bracelet

This is a bracelet I initially made about a year ago, but tonight I cleaned, re-strung and added the picture frames. I love the picture frames on the bracelets - it really personalizes it!

Temporary Home

Step one of the fish transfer is complete. The fish are in a 5 gallon bucket with an aerator in the laundy room. Tomorrow I will put them in their winter home, the 55 gallon aquarium. It wasn't an easy process - I wish I had a camera outside during the actual removal process, our little assembly line. Evan had the pump emptying the pond, Kyle had the net, scooping out the fish. I was taking them out of the net, and placing them in the bucket. Ryan and Carter splashed in the bucket trying to take them back out - the freezing cold water getting their hands and clothes soaked. Kids never feel the cold - why is that? I did hear "this pond is going to be the death of me" and other words I shouldn't share on here several times out of Evan's mouth. Draining the pond isn't the favorite project around here... but we are done for '08!

Fall Photo Time

Getting 5 people together for a photo is never the easiest task. Throw in 2 active little boys, and you have an all out challenge on your hands! :) I thought we did fairly well...here are a couple of shots!

Bow Hunter

Evan heading out for the night hunt. No luck this time - even lost his GPS in the process... (Thankfully his GPS was found this morning on the trail!)

Helping Grandpa with Fire Wood

Kyle loves helping Grandpa with fire wood. They spend countless hours in the woods, often late for meals, to cut, split, pile, and haul wood. Grandpa is just thankful for another set of hands to help him out!

Burning the Brush Pile

Grandpa had this great idea to burn the brush pile on Friday night. After a scurry to obtain a burning permit, he and the boys headed out to burn the brush pile. The kids helped gather all the dead branches/wood in the grove and they had the biggest fire! They loved helping with it, and were only disappointed when we didn't have marshmallows to roast!
