Bunker Beach

The weather is finally nice enough to head to Bunker Beach and the boys and I are loving it. We went last week and this week.  We were there over 6 hours both days, soaking up the rays and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.  We try to make plans for friends to join us whenever possible, but we also go alone.  The boys read during safety breaks when their friends aren't there.  I love to read at Bunker as well - I brought my kindle and was able to knock out 57% of this month's book club book on Friday.  Score! :)

Happy Father's Day!

We celebrated Father's Day today with Evan and my Dad.  I forgot my camera when we met Mom and Dad at the restaurant, but I do have an Instagram photo to share when I do my next post.  We had a great day today.  After lunch, Evan and the boys went to the park to play baseball, to the driving range to hit some balls, and then Kyle went to soccer practice and Ryan had a lacrosse game.  Never a dull moment in the summer in our house! :)

They may not be able to do this much longer - these kids are getting BIG!

There was a lot of wrestling and fun in the living room today! :)

Ryan's First Lacrosse Game

Ryan had his first lacrosse game of the season tonight.  His team is pretty 'green', only 2 other players have played lacrosse previously.  It was a tough loss for the team, 7-0 to Champlin.  Hopefully they will continue to learn and improve over the course of the season.  Ryan did a great job tonight, played really aggressive, and was right in the middle of the action the entire time he was on the field.  He was fun to watch!

Also, if his number looks familiar, it was last year's jersey he had on tonight (thankfully, they are identical to this year's).  You might have a lot on your plate if you send your child to his first game in last year's jersey.  Oops!

Last Day of School

Another school year has come and gone.  My 1st and 3rd graders are now 2nd and 4th graders.  Wow!  They had such a fun day - when I watch their excitement on days like this, I relive my own last days of school.  So.much.fun!!!

Boys before school:

I volunteered at Carter's end of year party.  Here he is making sand art:

The finished fish!

Making a fish suncatcher:

Carter and Ms. Hallstrom.  He is going to miss her sooo much.  We all are!

School's out for summer!!!!

Writing their end of the school year interviews that I put in their books.  So cute!

Kyle's Soccer Game

Kyle has had a very busy spring.  He finished 9th grade yesterday, he played golf, soccer, and also managed to participate in the Legacy trap shooting team.  He had one crazy schedule.  Now that school's out and golf and trap shooting are done, he can concentrate on what's important...sleeping in and soccer.  :)  We were able to watch his game last night and it was so much fun to watch him play!  He was an outside wingman (I think that's what he called it!?) and there was only 1 sub on the team, so he had a lot of playing time and he was exhausted by the end!

Instagram

More instagram pictures to share.  This is one of my favorite ways to share a snapshot of our daily happenings around here:

Ryan's blue ribbon track and field day:

I made Holly (left) and Susie (right) necklaces with their boys numbers on them.  We sit together at every baseball game and have so much fun together!!!!  Love these girls!

Ryan's class field trip to Target Field with his neighbor and friend, Nathan:

Kyle is driving!  He has his permit and is doing a great job driving now.  How on earth can he be old enough for that?

Carter's team had a rough start to their game last night, but they managed to turn it around later in the game to pull out the win.  They are still undefeated and close games have Holly and Susie and I on the edge of our chairs.  Evan has to keep reminding me to settle down, they're 7 and 8 year olds!!!  ;)  Carter made all 3 outs in one inning and was congratulated by the coach (top pic):

I was heading down to the treadmill this morning when Carter stopped me.  He wanted to go for a run outside.  Technically, I run and he rides bikes ahead of me, telling me "hurry UP, Mom!"  It was a gorgeous morning and I'm so glad we went outside!

My yard is in full bloom right now and I love, love, love it!  We love summer in MN!!!

Carter came home from school with this for me today and I cried when I saw it.  His teacher wrote the nicest note and she took a picture of each of the kids holding a letter that spelled "Thank you for helping us!!!"  Then each child signed the frame, and put their fingerprint next to their name.  I love it!  I volunteered in his classroom every Thursday this school year and I am going to miss those kids so much!

I have a hard time getting to many of Kyle's games because Ryan and Carter have such a busy schedule.  I was glad we could make it tonight.  He is so much fun to watch.  Watching 15 year olds play soccer is a lot different than watching 9 year olds.  He did a great job!!!
