Flying a Kite

There wasn't quite enough wind, but with a little effort, they could keep the kite in the air! What a fun memory - I remember doing that with my Dad when I was a little girl!

Fun on Lake 11

We haven't had nearly enough time on the Lake this year. We finally got the boat out for a fun day in the sun. The boys loved tubing, swimming, and driving the boat wasn't bad either! Carter enjoyed the boat, but playing in the water with Grandpa was even better!

Cutting branches

At this age, it is still "fun" to do projects like cut down branches and haul them away. I dread the day when it is not "fun" anymore - we have 3 willing helpers right now! 'Course Carter doesn't always get the branches in the wagon, but I guess we can give him a break...until he's 2! :) I laughed at the shocked look on his face when Grandpa got out the chainsaw, he was all smiles once he saw it in action! Ryan was chasing the small frog by the flower pot, thank goodness it got away!

Four Wheeling at Grandpa and Grandma's

The boys have always loved to 4-wheel...the new favorite is picking blackberries on the 4-wheeler trails... All of the boys enjoy eating them - amazing how quickly Carter can scarf them down!!!

Ryan's first visit to Moosehorn Shack

Ryan took his first trek to the cabin this past week. I was a little nervous as to how he would do up there (the cabin is on 80 acres surrounded by state land - a LOT of area for an adventuresome 3-year-old like Ryan to get lost!) He had a great visit and wants to go back again!! Kyle did some target practicing, they visited deer stands, and got a little four wheeling in. That's what shack life is all about!

Carter Visiting Great Grandma Pearl

Carter rarely gets to visit Great Grandma alone, so this was a special visit. She is always so happy to see him! He makes the rounds with all of the "Grandmas" at Elderwood and visits with them!!

Sondra's Cabin

The boys love swimming at Sondra's. I will miss the hot summer days when the fall and winter set in. I know they will look forward to returning next summer! And what fun would swimming be without a snack? Carter enjoying his Oreo cookie below...
