Saturday night Dad and I took Ryan and Carter to Monster Jam at the Metrodome. I'm not sure who had more fun - Dad or the boys. It was a night of lots of action, loud trucks, and exhaust fumes! We all had to wear ear protection, which meant yelling into each other's ears whenever we wanted to communicate. Made for an interesting evening!!!! :)
Also, this post is very picture-heavy. Ryan had my camera most of the night and took over 350 pictures - took me some time to go through and narrow them down...
Bringing the flag on the field for the National Anthem:
Lights out after the Anthem:
Grandpa and Ryan:
The start of the races, this is Monster Magic:
And the crowd favorite, Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger:
Mesmerized:
Start of the 4 wheeler race, it was Team USA vs. Team Canada, 7 racers per team:
Coming around the first corner. Look at them lean to stay on their 4 wheelers and keep them on course! Check out the red racer in back - he just lost his wheel!
The winner, Team USA!!!
The first of many rollovers for the evening:
Trying to save the truck from rolling...
and he did, but he landed right on another. This is what gets the crowd going!!!
But go on with the show like nothing happened:
One of the kids' favorites:
Ryan and Grandpa celebrating their favorites in the freestyle event:
Carter taking a break to play on the iphone!
Superman:
And the grand finale - Grave Digger!!!!!
His truck ended up breaking down on this pile of cars, he couldn't complete his freestyle event. Thankfully the victory stayed in his family - his son Ryan took home the first place title!!!
